A century in Logan Canyon
Also known as St. Ann's Retreat, Pine Glen Cove, and The Nunnery. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Built for Georgia
Cache Mountain Resort began in 1910 as Hatch's Camp, beside the Logan River in what is now the Cache National Forest. Boyd Hatch built it for his wife, Georgia, who spent her final years here, so from the very start it was a place of healing.
Over the decades it was also known as St. Ann's Retreat, Pine Glen Cove, and The Nunnery. Its new name honors the early “cachers” this canyon was named for.

Logan Canyon society, 1933
On Sunday morning, September 17, 1933, the Logan newspaper ran a full Society page on autumn in the canyon: swimming by the pool, tennis, horseback rides, bridge on the patio, and golf on the lawn.
It’s the spirit we’re bringing back, one cabin at a time.

Saved in its last-chance year
When Cameron Jensen first saw the property, it had been for sale on and off for decades. There was no working water and no power, and the roofs had holes you could see the sky through.
To buy it, he first had to prove it could get water again. He spent three months living on the mountain repairing a mile-long water line buried in rugged terrain before the sale ever closed.
The restoration so far
- Mile-long water line repaired, after three months living on the mountain
- New roofs
- Power restored to every building
- Bridge restored
- Modern septic system, 100 feet from the river
- Now: sheetrock coming down to reveal original old-growth wood
- Now: fireplaces brought back to life
- Next: cabins restored to how they looked a century ago

Why it matters
The restoration is self-funded and supported by people from around the world who believe in this place. When it reopens, Cache Mountain Resort will be a place to disconnect, with no TVs and no noise, just the mountains and the river.
